The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank

The Shoe Bank will open the Boot Room for the season in November.

All eligible families can bring their kids and teens to get a free new pair of boots. The Boot Room has many styles to choose from in most sizes, from preschooler to big teen sizes.

Saturday, Nov. 9, is just for boots. This special date is for the families who have visited the Shoe Bank in August, September or October. They aren’t eligible for new shoes just yet, but they can come and get their winter boots.

All other eligible families may come on Saturday, Nov. 23, when their kids and teens can get free new boots and shoes that day. This date is for families who haven’t visited recently, as well as new families who have never been to the Shoe Bank before.

The Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank is inside Covenant United Methodist Church at 44 W. Main St., and gives free new footwear for tiny tots through high school seniors, plus socks, books, and a little treat.

Boots are available all winter long.

Children and teens through high school (up to age 18) are eligible if the family has Compass and if they live anywhere in Clinton County or the Liberty-Curtin School area. Agencies, churches, schools and other organizations may refer families who need the service but don’t have Compass.

Appointments are required. If your family can come on Nov. 9, text or call Diahann at 814-571-5324 any weeknight from 7-9 p.m. She will get back to you as she starts building the schedule.

If your family can come on Nov. 23, please wait until closer to that date to contact her.

If you cannot make your appointment, please call or text her to reschedule. You may even call on the day of your appointment. She does keep a waiting list.

Funding is provided by the Clinton County Community Foundation, a M&T Bank Charitable Foundation grant, civic groups, churches and individual donors.
