Pregnancy Resource Clinic’s new home in Lock Haven ready to serve
A Woman’s Concern Pregnancy Resource Clinic has officially expanded its faith-based services to Clinton County following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the nonprofit’s newest home at 53 West Main Street in downtown Lock Haven.
Dozens of people gathered to celebrate the agency and its mission to “educate, encourage and empower men and women to make informed life choices through compassionate care and guidance.”
The clinic, founded in State College, offers pregnancy tests, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), ultrasounds and specialized support like the Abortion Recovery Care Program. For pregnant women needing assistance, the PRC also offers a well-stocked “Baby Boutique,” featuring brand-new items such as clothing, diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, bottles, and much more, thanks to the generosity of local donors.
The clinic is a 501(c)(3) and is sustained by gifts and donations from area churches, individuals and others. It hosts medical professionals like registered nurses, certified phlebotomy technicians, and registered diagnostic medical sonographers (RDMS), as well as trained client advocates.
All services provided by the PRC are strictly confidential and completely free of charge. Said Jenny Summers, PRC executive director, “Staying true to God’s word and our mission for the last 41 years, it is a humbling privilege to stand here today to open our new home to the clients and their families we are currently serving and those we will serve for many years to come.” Jen Redmond, PRC site director at Lock Haven, said, “I look forward to welcoming the community through these doors each day to receive excellent and compassionate care.”
For the seventh consecutive year, the clinic received competitive grant funding from the Clinton County Community Foundation for medical and material supplies. For more information about PRC, visit www.scprc.com.
