Grant writing and partnership building presented at Commonwealth University-Lock Haven

Clinton County Community Foundation representatives Elizabeth Arnold, board member, and Bob Rolley, outreach coordinator, offered a presentation recently to Dr. Julie A. Lammel’s class at Commonwealth University-Lock Haven learning about grant writing and partnership building. The pair talked to students about elements of a successful grant application, using the Foundation’s grant guidelines and application as an example. The students have formed theoretical nonprofits working to address areas of (1) Easing the process for veterans integrating back into their communities; (2) Removing the stigma and stereotype about dog breeds; (3) Developing healthy teens through sports; (4) Food for thought – food and housing safety for vulnerable residents, and finally (5) Funding for women in the midst of cancer treatment that would allow them to focus on healing and recovery. Dr. Lammel is associate professor/chair of the Commonwealth University-Lock Haven’s Recreation Management Department.
