Executive Director Wanted

The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer of The Clinton County Community Foundation (CCCF).
The Executive Director reports to the President of the CCCF Board of Trustees and operates under the general
direction of the Board and within the policies established by the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.
Summary of Responsibilities
The Executive Director is responsible for directing the overall program and administrative activities of the
Foundation and the effective use of its financial and human resources. He/She has primary responsibility for:
Planning and management of the Foundation’s programs and services in adherence with the CCCF’s
Strategic Action Plan.
Spearhead implementation of strategic goals and objectives.
Attracting gifts to expand Foundation assets and grow giving by cultivating prospective and existing
donors through robust communication and recognition.
Serving as CCCF’s spokesperson and visible representative at community events.
Providing leadership and direction to Grant Making, Marketing, Gift-Giving, Scholarships, and Spending,
Investments and Program operations to ensure unity of mission and consistent, high-quality service.
Increasing awareness of the Foundation in Clinton County and surrounding areas, and encouraging
measures to improve the quality of local philanthropy.
Providing leadership and facilitating collaboration to help determine Clinton County’s most pressing
needs and promising opportunities.
Serving as a liaison with local organizations and agencies that make up the Foundation’s various
constituencies, and with regional, state, and national organizations when appropriate.
CCCF Board Meeting Preparation and Support
Prepares for all CCCF Board meetings, ensuring timely and organized planning and execution.
Develops and distributes board packets, including financial statements, program updates, committee
reports, and other required documentation.
Present Executive Director reports summarizing key activities, trends, challenges, and opportunities.
Coordinates meeting logistics such as scheduling, venue arrangements, technology setup, and
communication with board members.
Ensure, in coordination with the board secretary, that all meeting minutes, board resolutions, and official
records are accurately documented and properly filed.
Supports board committees by providing information, materials, and follow-up on action items.
Public Awareness and Community Liaison
Develops and implements strategies to promote awareness of the Foundation and its impact through
publications, media coverage, marketing initiatives, and public events, while also ensuring consistent
messaging, visibility, and engagement across all communication channels.
Represents the Foundation in meetings and activities of local, regional, and statewide organizations.
Maintains relationships with community partners, nonprofits, civic groups, businesses and individuals to
strengthen collaboration and enhance philanthropy in the county.
Pursue changing or obtaining a new physical location to increase public awareness and visibility.
Strategic Plan Implementation & Community Leadership
Spearhead implementation of strategic goals and objectives.
Convene community roundtables and forums on priority needs (housing, youth, food insecurity, mental
health, etc.).
Develop partnerships with nonprofits, civic organizations, and county-wide initiatives.
Serve as CCCF’s spokesperson and visible representative at community events.
Growth & Philanthropy
Guide annual fundraising campaigns and donor outreach strategies.
Oversee planning of two annual donor recognition events, including a dinner and/or community
showcase.
Support, encourage and develop the expansion of planned giving and legacy outreach.
Cultivates and maintains relationships with institutions, attorneys, financial advisors, banks, and donors
to encourage charitable giving.
Supports donor stewardship efforts to ensure accurate reporting, meaningful communication, and long-
term relationship building.
Develop and publish CCCF’s Annual Report to highlight grants, donor recognition, and community
impact.
Promote unrestricted giving to allow more funds to be used at the CCCF board’s discretion.
Visibility & Communications
Lead all internal and external communications.
Oversee communications partners/vendors (e.g., Strata) and align messaging with the CCCF’s goals.
Develop and execute a comprehensive communications plan, including: Publishing donor, grantee, and
scholarship impact stories.
Launching a CCCF newsletter and annual report to the board.
Expanding presence on social and digital platforms.
Overseeing website redesign/updates to highlight impact.
Operational Leadership & Board Engagement
Work directly with the CCCF Board on capacity-building initiatives.
Ensure continuity in finance, grant applications, and disbursements, while emphasizing collaboration
and analysis in financial oversight.
Maintain the Foundation’s financial and grant-making records and liaise with master custodians and
brokerage accounts.
Develop and manage the Foundation’s administrative operating budget.
Support board development, growth, governance, and training.
Recommend and implement digital tools/systems (CRM, grant management, communications tools).
Motivate and encourage board members and committees to be active and engaged.
Impact & Innovation
Lead development of new initiatives and needs-based grants.
Expand scholarship opportunities.
Establish evaluation metrics and frameworks to measure the community impact of CCCF.
Deliver CCCF’s Annual Impact Report.
